Patients undergoing any form of surgery at The NSW Eye Centre must have someone to accompany them home from the hospital and preferably stay with the patient overnight.  It is advisable a close friend or neighbour nearby who you can call upon if required.

An adult who will take responsibility for your well being should accompany you when you leave the hospital

Please see the nursing staff before you leave the unit to be sure that you take home your:-

  • X-rays
  • Medications
  • Discharge prescription script
  • Valuables
   

We strongly advise that in the first 24 hours after your anaesthesia
You must NOT

  • Drive a car
  • Operate machinery
  • Conduct business or sign documents.

After Hours
Patients and their carers should refer to our written discharge instructions.   You can contact nursing staff at The Sydney Private Hospital on 02 9797 0555 and they will contact your specialist.  Alternatively you may contact your specialist or go to the nearest Accident and Emergency Department.

The NSW Eye Centre / The Sydney Private Hospital does not have an Accident and Emergency Department.
